Maximizing Fuel Efficiency for Sustainable Mobility
What is the Cal Poly Supermileage team?
Cal Poly Supermileage is a team of students dedicated to designing, engineering, and manufacturing high efficiency vehicles. We compete in the annual Shell Eco-Marathon Americas competition. Our current prototype car, the Black Widow, achieved 2752.3 miles per gallon at the 2008 Eco-Marathon. Our new Urban Concept, Capax, got 425 miles per gallon at its inaugural Eco-Marathon this year. We have fifteen members from a variety of majors and backgrounds and welcome anyone who wants to join, regardless of major or skillset.
How can I get involved?
If you are a student or faculty member and want to learn more or get involved, come to one of our meetings. Our general meetings for winter quarter are on Tuesdays from 3:10pm to 4:00pm in building 13, room 124b. We also meet every Sunday around 10 am in the Mechanical Engineering Hangar, building 4.
For non students and faculty, the Cal Poly Supermileage team is always open to sponsorship, whether it be financial, parts, materials, or services. In exchange for sponsorship, we help provide exposure for your business at competition, on our car, t-shirts, and website, and in news articles that feature us.
